AstraZeneca Middle East and Africa has announced the launch of a special event for public awareness of pediatric lung diseases and asthma, and the event will take place through a virtual summit via the Zoom application.
The symposium is scheduled to be held on Friday, November 26, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Egypt time, and from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm Saudi time.

The symposium will include the participation of a number of health care professionals and experts in respiratory diseases, as well as a number of patients and their families. Lung diseases, asthma and associated viruses such as respiratory syncytial virus will be discussed.
Seminar program
The seminar program (Egypt time) includes the following:
- 2:00 – 2:10: Introduction and welcome to the audience with Dr. Viraj Rajadhiksha.
- From 2:10 – 2:20: Preventing childhood asthma triggers and knowing their triggers with Dr. Andre Van Niekerk, Pediatric Pulmonologist.
- From 2:20 – 2:30: Parents’ experience with asthma and controlling their children’s asthma.
- From 2:30 – 2:40: open questions and answers.
- From 2:40 – 2:50: Closing of the first session and an introduction to the next session with Dr. Viraj Rajadhiksha.
- From 2:50 – 3:00: 10 things you should know if you are a mother / father of a premature baby with Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Numeiri, a neonatologist.
- From 3:00 – 3:10: Parents’ experience with respiratory syncytial virus and how to protect a premature baby from it.
- From 3:10 – 3:20: identifying the symptoms of the respiratory syncytial virus with Dr. Adel Riad, a pulmonologist.
- From 3:10 – 3:30: Discussing patients’ rights with the Premature Babies Organization in Turkey.
- From 3:30 – 3:40: open questions and answers.
- From 3:40 – 4:50: Summary and closing of the symposium with Yasmine Hassan from the Central Patient Command.
